Nevertheless, career for many people is, undoubtedly, very important, because it is directly related to life quality. Professional activity satisfies almost all human needs: physiological, safety, social, attainment, self-realisation, independence, autonomy and other. The efficiency of the mentioned activity and the ability of the personality to construct his career are closely related things. In the context of these changes and new requirements to man{\textquoteright}s activity, has changed an attitude to career phenomenon. Therefore, career phenomenon becomes a research object for many science fields: educology, psychology, culture, economics, management and other. Because of that reason career process is considered interdisciplinary research object and its definition is understood differently and different career conceptions are distinguished. One can claim that this is methodological discourse field. Seeking to analyse university student position regarding career questions, a written form survey was carried out. The research was carried out between September and December, 2014. The research sample (265) was structured applying a consecutive {\textquoteleft}bunch{\textquoteright} system. The respondents from three Lithuanian universities Klaipeda, Vilnius and {\v S}iauliai, were selected in the sample. Professional career parameters were evaluated: career conception, the importance of work values and abilities, study influence, promoting and limiting factors and personal traits. The research is grounded on a mixed strategy, when quantitative and qualitative research approach is combined. It is obvious, that certain competencies are being formed and form during that period. It is likely, that their significance is different, and also certain differences in terms of sex are possible. Research on student career problems in the latter years remain actual. It is likely, that analysing students{\textquoteright} positions on these questions, sufficiently objective initial information is obtained. Empirical research (N=265), carried out between October to December, 2014 showed, that six most important career management competencies are significant for students. Carried out career management competency internal structure analysis showed, that problem solving competency (SI=0.89) is the most significant one, the leadership competency (SI=0.74) is the least important. However, evaluating according to significance index, one can claim, that all discerned competencies are sufficiently significant. It is important to make conditions for all students to develop their career competencies, to support them in the process of cognising, creating and realising themselves. Career education is a common team work, the success of which is possible if most of the school employees contribute to career competence development, various school activities, oriented to students{\textquoteright} personality maturity help students as well to acquire and develop the competencies necessary for successful career. In the research, it was referred to an attitude that career education is a systematic and purposeful process, by which it is helped the student to make a career choice and to acquire career competencies. The research object was - career education in general education schools. The research aim was {\textendash} to ascertain teachers{\textquoteright} attitude to career education in general education schools. In the research, a survey strategy was applied. Descriptive statistics procedure was applied for calculation of frequencies and comparing of averages. It was a pilot research. The research took place in Klaipeda city municipality general education schools in 2017. In the research, the teachers from 100 general education schools took part. The survey was carried out online. Using {\textquotedblleft}Google forms{\textquotedblright} device, the questionnaire was presented to school teachers. The research results revealed that education process was very intensive, there was a lack of time for carrying out career education activities, lack of consistency, financing, not in all schools career education programme was prepared, there was lack of efficiency, there were not enough career education programmes, methodological devices, there was lack of all school community involvement in career education organisation and social partner help for career education activity implementation outside the school.
