Abstract

I wish to thank the journal and its editors for the opportunity to write this short editorial. This issue brings many new ideas and insights into current challenges in science education. In my text, I highlight certain risks associated with scientific literacy and the overuse of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an essential element of modern society, revolutionizing domains such as education and research. It is therefore essential to engage with this technology effectively across all spheres of human activity.
The concept of scientific literacy is frequently invoked in lay society as well as among researchers and professionals in the field. However, its understanding has remained problematic from the past to the present.
