Since learning motivation and intellectual development are interrelated, the remedial programme, which fosters the increase of teenager’s intellectual activity, may become one of the factors influencing the development of learning motivation. The authors assume that specially developed remedial programme for pupils with low intellectual activity indirectly reforms the hierarchy of motives in the structure of learning motivation.
Taking into account that all children are different and that intellectual development and learning-cognitive motivation are interrelated, during the research 290 pupils in Latvia have been examined by the use of the GIT method (Group Intellectual Test), which consists of 7 subtests. Out of the all sample group the experiment team chose pupils (101) who had shown the lowest results for the test tasks and studied the peculiarities of their learning motivation. These pupils were divided into control group (56) and experimental group (45), subsequently dividing the latter group into three subgroups. Then two experimental stages were processed: one before the remedial work and one afterwards. The level of intellectual development and peculiarities of learning motivation were diagnosed. It was concluded that remedial work stimulates cogitation, enriches vocabulary and reforms the hierarchy of motives in the structure of learning motivation.</style>
<work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">43-52</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Svetlana Guseva</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Valerijs Dombrovskis</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Irena Kokina</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">IDENTIFICATION OF PROFESSIONS: PSYCHOLOGICAL PECULIARITIES OF ACQUIRING A PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY OF TEACHERS</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problems of Education in the 21st Century </style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">identity of personality</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">professional identity crisis</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">professional training</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2009</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">January/2009</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://oaji.net/articles/2014/457-1392315183.pdf</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">10</style></volume><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">The article offers an integrated review of literature on the phenomenon of professional identity. Empirically, professional identity has been studied in the experimental group consisting of 214 Daugavpils University students majoring in teacher training programs, using M.Kuhn methodology and the unfinished statement technique. The data obtained from processing first-year students’ responses demonstrate a high level of identifying with the social role “student”. The second-year students begin expressing ambivalent and neutral attitudes to their profession. The situation is quite favorable for building up a professional identity. The Third-year students become more satisfied with their professional behavior during their studies. The Fourth-year student crisis has been identified and the reasons for its appearance discussed.</style>
<work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">30-37</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Irena Kokina</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Svetlana Guseva</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Valerijs Dombrovskis</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMS OF EDUCATION: MASTER STUDY PROGRAM “COMMUNITY AND ESTABLISHMENT ADMINISTRATION” IN THE CONDITIONS OF COMMUNITY’S DEMOCRATISATION IN LATVIA</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problems of Education in the 21st Century </style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">management</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">master study program</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2008</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">October/2008</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://oaji.net/articles/2014/457-1392284364.pdf</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">8</style></volume><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">This research is focused on philosophical basis of the master study program &quot;Community and Establishment Administration&quot; in the context of community's democratization in Latvia.
