This research focuses on evaluating the effect of the Drama-Based Reading Support Program (DBRSP), which possesses a multicomponent structure and was developed for primary school students with reading difficulties. To assess the intervention, a quantitative research approach was utilized, specifically adopting a single-group pre-experimental design with pre- and post-test measures. The study group consists of 8 fourth-grade primary school students who do not have any intellectual disabilities or diagnoses but experience reading difficulties, determined by criterion sampling. The Informal Reading Inventory, Reading Motivation Scale, and Reading Attitude Scale were used for data collection. During the implementation process, a 32-hour (8-week) intervention program integrating drama techniques with reading strategies was applied. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The research findings revealed that the DBRSP implementation significantly increased the students’ reading comprehension skills and reading motivation levels. Conversely, it was determined that the program did not create a statistically significant difference in the students’ attitudes toward reading in the short term. Consequently, these preliminary findings suggest that drama-based activities may serve as a promising intervention tool supporting both the cognitive and motivational development of students with reading difficulties by transforming the reading process from a mechanical act into an experiential one; however, given the single-group design and limited sample size, these results should be interpreted as exploratory, and further research is needed before broader generalizability can be claimed.</style>
<issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">4</style></issue><work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">565-586</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Ivana Rochovská</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Božena Švábová</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">THE USE OF CREATIVE DRAMA METHODS WITHIN KINDERGARTENS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE TEACHING STAFF</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problems of Education in the 21st Century</style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">creative drama</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">creative drama methods</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">kindergarten teacher</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">preschool education</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">teaching assistant</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2023</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">June/2023</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">https://oaji.net/articles/2023/457-1687425405.pdf</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">81</style></volume><pages><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Continuous</style></pages><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Creative drama has great potential and its implementation in education from pre-school education requires research, as evidenced by the number of scientific studies that have been registered in international research databases over the last ten years. The aim of the research was to examine the use of creative drama methods within kindergartens in Slovakia from the perspective of the kindergarten teaching staff (teachers and teaching assistants). A quantitative research design was used. 407 kindergarten teaching staff responded to the items of the questionnaire of the authors' construction. From the results of the research, it is possible to state that there is an average level of knowledge of creative drama among kindergarten teaching staff (based on their self-reflection). Furthermore, based on the self-reflection of the teaching staff, it can be stated that there are below-average opportunities for their education in the area of creative drama and a below-average level of using creative drama methods in kindergartens. Nevertheless, the status of the use of creative drama methods has improved over the last 10 years. The results of the research are a stimulus for further research - analysis of the responses of the teaching staff in terms of their age and pedagogical practice in order to estimate the development of the current state of using creative drama in kindergartens. </style>
<issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">3</style></issue><work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">388-400</style></section></record></records></xml>
