The presented research represents a contribution to solving the issue of quality assurance of informatics education on the tertiary level of education in economy and managerial study fields. Within the research current state of informatics education in selected economy and managerial study programmes was analysed based on students` views and opinions. Necessary research data were collected through questionnaire survey respondents, who were students of the relevant study programmes in the Slovak and Czech Republics. The paper presents in more detail results of the questionnaire part which was focused on finding out how the students evaluate informatics education incorporated in their pre-graduate education considering its relevance to their study and career profiles. Another task of the research was to find out whether the students` evaluations depend on their gender and study specializations, and also whether there are some differences in the evaluations done by the students of the same or at least similar study programmes studying either in Slovakia or in the Czech Republic. As the results showed, students of the economy and managerial study programmes do not connect their future career with the information technologies and they do not have ambitions to be employed in the IT area. But at the same time, they are aware of the fact that the knowledge and skills obtained within their informatics preparation are important for their everyday life and future career. On the other hand, they are not satisfied with the quality of the informatics subjects they are taught. So, to assure the quality of their pre-gradual preparation does not mean only to innovate curricula of the informatics preparation but also to deal with the issues of an efficient transfer of these curricula content to students.</style>
<issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2</style></issue><work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">250-278</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Kateřina Berková</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Jana Borůvková</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Lenka Lízalová</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">RECOGNITION OF INDICATORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COGNITIVE DIMENSIONS IN TERTIARY EDUCATION</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problems of Education in the 21st Century</style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">cognitive dimensions</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">logical reasoning</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problem-Based Learning</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">tertiary education</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2018</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">December/2018</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://oaji.net/articles/2017/457-1544951884.pdf</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">76</style></volume><pages><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Continuous</style></pages><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">The aim of the research was to find out what factors influence the development of cognitive dimensions in college students. The following factors were considered: field of study, academic achievement in a selected economic subject and abstract visual intellectual level. The reason for doing this research was to increase the quality of teaching economic subjects across bachelor study fields in the conditions of a practically oriented College of Polytechnics, Jihlava in the Czech Republic. Two fields of study were selected - the economic field - Finance and Management (N = 52 students) and the technical field - Applied Computer Science (N = 30 students). Study plans of both fields included the subject Corporate Economy in the first term of studies. Methodological research was based on the theory of problem-based learning. It was built on a test method that was used to gain data to identify the context of variables with the development of cognitive dimensions in the context of an internationally recognized framework for evaluating the success - the Bloom's Taxonomy. Two tests were used to collect the data: (a) a test measuring the abstract visual intellectual level; (b) a non-standardized test to measure students' achievement in the six cognitive dimensions of the Bloom's Taxonomy. The initial knowledge of students was comparable. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, followed by the Spearman and Pearson correlation coefficients. Cognitive dimensions could be grouped into two factors. Factor 1 - Application-Evaluation Dimension that was explained by the dimensions of Knowledge, Application, Evaluation; Factor 2 - Analytical Dimension that was explained by the dimensions of Comprehension, Analysis, Synthesis. The results showed that an individual did not have to be competent in the whole complexity of the Bloom's Taxonomy. The development of cognitive dimensions correlated with the field of study, the economic field was correlated with factor 2 and the technical field with factor 1. The development of cognitive dimensions did not correlate with the abstract-visual intellectual level. Factor 2 weakly negatively correlated with academic achievement in the subject Corporate Economy. This means that students who were successful in developing lower-order cognitive dimensions had a weak analytical orientation in the economic area, and vice versa. The results brought by the research will help improve teaching of economic subjects across the two disciplines, especially with regard to the innovation of learning and teaching strategies with a positive impact on the desired cognitive development of students.</style>
<issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">6</style></issue><work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">762-778</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Csilla Czeglédi</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Tímea Juhász</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Ágnes Szlávicz</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">THE MOTIVATION OF STUDENTS TO CHOOSE TERTIARY EDUCATION IN HUNGARY AND SERBIAN VOJVODINA</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problems of Education in the 21st Century</style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">career choice</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">motivation</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">tertiary education</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">tuition fee</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2013</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">November/2013</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://oaji.net/articles/2014/457-1420055524.pdf</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">56</style></volume><pages><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Discontinuous</style></pages><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">The students motives of enrolment to tertiary educational institutions crucially influence their academic achievement and behaviour during studies. This research focuses on the Hungarian students’ reasons for choosing university in Hungary and in Serbian Vojvodina: whether they decide on their own or are influenced by other factors. The quantitative research also examines whether there is valid similarity or difference between the tertiary educational decisions of Hungarian people and those living in a neighboring country as the latter share a lot of common roots with their mother country.
The results show that there are similarities between the choices of young people from both areas, regardless of their mother country. Young people typically seem to choose further education on their own, and their surroundings or material considerations are only secondary motivational factors in their decision. However, it is also true that direct social factors and financial conditions have a considerable impact on whether they can actually acquire their diplomas.

However, its deployment on a large scale resulted in the emergence of many problems which shall become a subject of research and investigation. The present study reflects the attitudes of university students toward e-learning within their course of study, and submits partial results of the research investigation implemented throughout the years 2007 to 2011. The hereinabove described survey research focused on monitoring and evaluating students` attitudes to the teaching through e-learning based on the use of electronic study supports enriched with multimedia elements. The research data collection was carried out by means of a non-standardized research questionnaire and the data were subsequently analysed using nonparametric statistical methods. Selected outputs of the research, focused primarily on the assessment of the level of students’ satisfaction with the organization of teaching through e-learning, and on the identification of the elements of electronic study materials preferred by the students, are the subject of this study.</style>
<work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">33-43</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Nitza Davidovitz</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Shlomo Sharlin</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">CAN AN ACADEMIC INSTITUTION AFFECT GRADUATES’ RESIDENCE CHOICES? According to consistent multi-annual University Center data, the majority (84.0%) of students at the Ariel University Center come from outside the region. Although students on campus focus on their academic assignments toward their degrees, students come into considerable daily contact with the region. Study findings indicate that a very small percentage of students who did not live or work in the region during their studies settled in their region after graduation. An interesting finding is that over two-thirds of all graduates (67.3%)- independent of whether or not they currently live in the Samaria - believe that an effort should be made to encourage graduates to live in the region. The study findings indicate significant differences in the typical profiles and values of graduates who settled in the Samaria region and those who settled outside Samaria after graduation. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed. </style>
<work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">46-60</style></section></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Olasehinde-Williams Olabisi</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Henry Owolabi</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Lasiele Yahaya</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE MEASURES OF PERCEIVED PREVALENCE OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY PROBLEMS AMONG LECTURERS OF TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN KWARA STATE, NIGERIA</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Problems of Education in the 21st Century </style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">academic integrity</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">tertiary education</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">2009</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">May/2009</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://oaji.net/articles/2014/457-1393267113.pdf</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">12</style></volume><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">This paper presents the report of quantitative and qualitative measures of perceived prevalence of academic integrity problems among lecturers of tertiary institutions in Kwara State, Nigeria. Participants comprised 566 students, lecturers and administrative staff selected through the stratified sampling technique from four tertiary institutions; and data were collected via a Questionnaire, Focus Group Discussions and Informal Interview. Descriptive and ANOVA statistics were employed for data analysis across the variables of status, gender and type of institution. Findings of the study showed that relationship with female students, handling of text books/ handouts, project supervision and examinations were perceived by about 10% of the respondents to be the highly prevalent academic integrity problems among lecturers. It was also revealed that only small proportions of lecturers were indicted in this regard. Also, significant differences were found in the perceptions of respondents from the university, college of education and polytechnic. Based on the findings, advocacy was made for implementing laws relating to integrity and instituting academic integrity policy in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. </style>
<work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Original article</style></work-type><section><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">88-99</style></section></record></records></xml>
